  • Michael - North Cambridge Resident

“After several conversations and researching his work, we are strongly supporting Federico's candidacy and feel that his voice is badly needed on the City Council. In my view, he is a balanced and reasoned critical thinker, rooted in the neighborhood whose approach to the most compelling and important issues in Cambridge is best poised to help bring workable, effective solutions to the greatest number of citizens."

“Federico Muchnik has worked to improve the quality of affordable housing development proposals, both for the original 2072 Mass Ave proposal and for Walden Square. His platform is to create an affordable housing plan that emphasizes mid-rise 5 and 6 story buildings on main corridors with less density and improved quality for the residents of affordable housing.”

  • Jeanne Koopman - Cambridge Resident

“I have watched Federico Muchnik’s short film featuring people who live in affordable housing near the Walden Square development proposed by Winn Developers. The film made it very clear that young people find the proposed building unacceptable – too large, too dense. One young man says clearly that he doubts that the developers would choose to live there. That says it all. We need far more effort put into interviewing prospective resident as we design affordable housing. We need 5-6 story buildings with heat reducing tree canopies. We need people on the city council who can present their messages in engaging form – like this film from Federico Muchnik.”

  • James Mahoney - Cambridge Resident

“I met Federico through his work to advance solutions that address our clear need for more affordable housing that sensibly integrates with the various neighborhoods of the city. In conversations since then, I've seen his consistent dedication to improving our life in the city, not just in his words, but also in his actions. He is not stuck in his own opinions, but rather is very open to continuing to expand his understanding of issues and developments. I'm delighted to endorse his candidacy and think he will bring fresh, collaborative energy to the Council.”

  • Charles Coe, Cambridge Adjunct Professor of English Salve Regina University

“I support Federico Muchnik for Cambridge City Council. I believe his approach to the issue of affordable housing is thoughtful and practical. I share his view that the high-rise towers proposed by Affordable Housing 2.0 are out of scale with the surrounding neighborhood and that the city should seek a more creative, lower-impact solution that does not repeat mistakes of the past.

I also agree with his view that the city can, and should, provide more resources for low-income residents, including offering no-cost citywide broadband internet service and low-interest loans to individuals starting small local businesses.

Cambridge City Council needs members who are committed to making sure the needs and interests of our low-income residents are taken into account in planning for the future.”

  • Chuck - mid-Cambridge

I am a Cambridge resident and also run my business out of my home which is right off Mt.Auburn close to Harvard Square.

I just voted my # 1 ballot spot for you (via mail) and hope you win a seat on the Council. I voted for Dennis Carlone for many years and his endorsement plus the information you have provided gives me hope. I am against 12 and 15 story buildings that will abut residences – so my top issue seems to be one of yours. Affordable housing yes, but ill conceived skyscrapers blocking sunlight and creating wind tunnels next to my home, NO! I am sick of developers running the show around here.

Good luck on the final stretch – hope you win.

    All the very best,

    Chuck
